Our Future

MBC’s Vision 2025 – Impacting Midlothian, Ellis County and the World in Our Generation

Download Site Overall

Take off in any direction from downtown Midlothian and you soon arrive at a new elementary school. We can’t build them fast enough to keep up with all the young families that are discovering that Midlothian is not that far out of the Metroplex.

I am sure that you have gotten trapped in what is becoming a city style traffic jam. Just trying to get out on Hwy 287 has become a major challenge and now the expansion has transformed the highway into four lanes through the center of town. Hwy 360 has been completed down to Hwy 287 and this summer our long awaited bypass will be opened around town. New subdivisions, businesses and churches are springing up around our community.

The roads are being opened and the schools, homes, businesses and churches are being built to meet the needs of new families who want to make our town and community their new home. Midlothian schools offer new families the gift of a good education, our city offers small town closeness with access to the big city advantages, but our church family can offer them far more - Intimacy with the Biblical Jesus.

This is why our church leadership will continue to implement our MBC Vision 2025. We implemented Phase I in the 4th Quarter of 2004 with the completion of the 30,000 square foot Children’s and Youth Building and the remodeling of our existing home to update the classrooms and the administrative space. Our Master Plan for the next twenty years calls for additional Children’s (~25,000 sq. ft) and Youth (~20,000 sq. ft) Ministry space, improvements in the worship atmosphere (acoustics and technical capabilities) of our Worship Gym, renovation of our existing kitchen and restroom facilities, a future 1500 seat (~50,000 sq. ft.) Sanctuary and possibly even some housing for Seniors. The church family and leadership will reevaluate these projects every 3 years to seek God’s will and timing of the specific projects.

Our church leadership is asking each of us and our households to prayerfully consider making a gracious, sacrificial commitment over and above our regular giving to our church family’s Ministry Fund to help make this Master Plan a reality. It will take every family making this commitment multiple times over the coming years to fulfill Vision 2025 in our generation.

For specific information on which Phase we are currently praying and working to accomplish, please contact the church office at 972-723-0002. See our link to our Vision 2025 Master Plan.

We ask each member of every family to do the following to join in accomplishing Vision 2025:

First, we need to all pray (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). Prayer lays the right foundation for all our work. Ask God what he desires to do through our church. Then ask God what He wants to do through you. God’s answer to both questions should line up. What He does through all of us together will rest upon what He does through each of us as individuals.

Second, we need to all grow in becoming gracious, generous, cheerful givers (2 Corinthians 8:7). The Lord desires us to excel in the grace of giving and to use our resources for His glory in the advancement of His kingdom. What is important to God is not the amount, but the heart attitude that the sacrificial giving represents. We encourage families to move towards a “10-10-80” lifestyle as a wise financial plan – 10% of your income given to God’s Kingdom, 10% of your income placed in savings for your future needs and learn to live on 80% of your income to meet your daily needs.
A theme of our Vision 2025 campaign is: “Not Equal Gifts, but Equal Sacrifice” – it will take all of us being obedient to the Lord’s direction to accomplish all He has planned for us. Each person or family will not give the same amount, but we pray that everyone will participate as God has blessed them. Some can give a little, others can give much. But for each of us, it is an individual decision, and it should involve individual sacrifice.

Third, we need to all commit (Colossians 3:17). We can make our decision and be prepared to make a commitment to Vision 2025. It is a privilege to be able to participate in advancing God’s kingdom by personally sacrificing in the name of the Lord Jesus. As a church family, we can sacrifice to advance the gospel in our community and around the world. Contact our Church Treasurer, Kim Lewis, to let him know of your commitment to Vision 2025.
