Nursery & Preschool

MORE THAN BABYSITTING....

Our Nursery and Preschool classrooms offer much more than babysitting.  We are privileged to serve not only the infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, but their families as well.  We screen and train our volunteers to nurture your child emotionally, intellectually, physically, and spiritually.  In a safe, secure, and stimulating environment, no matter the age, the children will hear about Jesus.  We need and welcome your involvement!  If you would like to learn more about serving our little ones, click here.

MORE THAN A BIBLE STORY...

Starting at age one, our volunteers use the FIRST LOOK curriculum to give children a positive, caring first impression of their Heavenly Father.  By age 5, children will know with certainty three basic truths: God Made Me, God Loves Me, and Jesus Wants to be My Friend Forever.  This approach offers much more than a bible story in circle time!  All month long, we teach the same bottom line and memory verse, with the bible stories changing weekly.  We use all 5 senses as we learn the stories through activities, crafts, snacks, small & large group time, puppets, and worship.  We want these lessons to continue at home with the use of our Small Talk Parents Page, which notes the Bible story taught, along with a conversation starter and activity.

MORE THAN A ROUTINE...

MBC's services begin at 8:30 and 11:15.  During those service times, preschoolers will be in their assigned classroom for activities, crafts, snack, and small group time.  During our middle Sunday School hour, preschoolers are treated to PRAISE & PUPPETS.  All children aged 2 to 5 are led into our playroom for a large-group worship time, puppet show, Bible story, and video clip, all centered around our weekly Bible story.  If time allows, we’ll also play games or go outside to the playground!  Your child won't want to miss out.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Yes, we're open!  Nursery and Preschool classrooms are available all morning long at MBC, beginning at 8:20 a.m.  Parents must always check their children in AND out at our Welcome Desk to receive and return their child’s nametag, security tag, and pager.  Visitors, please know your child's safety is the most important thing to us!  Expect to fill out a brief form so that our staff can give your child the care they deserve.  This is where we can first learn about your child's allergies, special needs, and emergency contact information. To view and print off our visitor form now, click here.  This will save you time on Sunday morning, and help our Welcome desk staff make the most of your experience here at MBC.

Things to remember:  Parents of Infants, Tots and Toddlers, please consider bringing the following items in your child's diaper bag to make your child's stay with us more enjoyable:  disposable diapers, wipes, change of clothes, bottles, snacks, sippy cups, and pacifiers or other security items.  Special toys are not encouraged, as we have lots to choose from and personal toys may cause conflict.  You will have the opportunity to write down important information or instructions for our volunteers.  Please label ALL personal items.

Classroom Promotion:  Parents should know that once an infant can walk confidently and safely, he or she can be promoted to our Toddler classroom, with prior notification.  After that, children aged 2 and up are promoted to new classes each August on an appointed day consistent with the school calendar.  We want your child to remain in the same classroom even AFTER their birthday, so that they will stay with the group of children they will attend school with.  This will help them make the most of their relationships and form long-lasting friendships.

We're Peanut-free!

In our effort to be thorough in safety, we do not serve or allow food with peanuts or peanut oils in the classrooms.  We recognize that peanut allergies are becoming increasingly prevelant and dangerous for children in this age group.  Please help us by not bringing such items to your child’s classroom.  Infants and Tots are only served per your instructions in the nursery.  Toddlers and preschoolers are all served the same thing: typically goldfish, animal, or graham crackers, with water to drink.  If our lessons include other items, it will be noted at your child's classroom door.  Please keep our Welcome desk staff aware of any changes in your child’s diet.

We look forward to getting to know you and your child!  If you have any questions, feel free to contact Cari LaCroix, Nursery/Preschool Director, for more information.  972-723-0966 or corbycari@sbcglobal.net.
