Local & Regional Outreach Being a light to our community would have us live a life of integrity following Jesus before our friends, neighbors and co-workers. In God’s timing, we also want to be prepared to verbally share the gospel message and the joy that Jesus has brought to us as members in His family. The following tools will help you prepare to share your faith in Christ: Gospel presentations and prepare your own personal testimony.Our church family also encourages you and/or your small group to be the hands and voice of Jesus by serving with local ministries - Find out how God has used MBC to bless others this year.
Below are many opportunities for you and/or your small groups to serve those who are hurting and in great need of a helping hand and the touch of the Lord Jesus. Click each link to learn more.
Angel Food- Angel Food partners with churches and community organizations throughout the country to help distribute food to those in need. For $30.00 you can receive a box of food containing both fresh and frozen items. Our food items are first quality (no out of date or seconds). Basketball Ministry – Every Monday night men from our church and around the community gather in our gym to play a vigorous game of basketball. They take a break half way through the night to share about what the Lord is doing in their life and pray together. Contact Brady Rapp at 972-723-3500.
Bill Glass Prison Ministry – Every year we participate in the DFW Weekend of Champions taking the gospel into area correction facilities. Contact Bill Curry at 972-723-0771
C.A.S.A. (Court Appointed Special Advocates)– Ministry to children who need special advocates walking them through our state/country juvenile system. Contact Marilyn Jones at 972-723-1455.
Cub Scout Pack 277 - Our church family is the chartering organization for Cub Scout Pack 277. This is a great ministry for parents and sons to spend time together in God’s creation outdoors while developing character, having fun, and starting leadership skills. Contact Chad Austin at 972-723-3785.
Ellis County Christian Women's Connection is an evangelical organization affiliated with Stonecroft Ministries. Our mission is to equip and encourage women to impact their communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to provide global leadership in reaching women for Jesus Christ. We have monthly luncheons at the Waxahachie Country Club where attendees can bring unchurched friends and enjoy a great program consisting of a special feature and an inspirational speaker. Our luncheons are held the third Wednesday of every month. Although reservations are preferred, walk-ins are welcome. For more information, please contact Kay Dunn at 972-937-2807.
top Hope for the Future Counseling Services– Should you need help from a Christian counselor, we allow a local independent Christian counsel to provide services from our church home. Contact Darlene Hardy at 972-937-2152.
Family Life Ministries – Helping families grow in raising Christ centered families is important to us at MBC. Many MBC families support one of our young couples, Peter and Johanna Zipp, who serve on staff with this ministry in Little Rock, AR. Kingdom Authority – A residential discipleship ministry located in a rural setting for men who are turning away from their bad habits and seeking to transform their lives through the power of the Holy Spirit. Contact Hugh Huber at 972-646-5060.
Manna House – Our community’s ministry aimed at helping those with benevolence needs. Located at 210 W. Ave F, this ministry has a food pantry and thrift store and is always looking for more volunteer help. In addition, they help with some household bills and help individuals and families get on their feet again. Contact Sissy Franklin at 972-775-1800.
Mission Midlothian – A ministry to needy children in our community. Volunteers help oversee children at two homes (across from J.R. Irvin and J.A. Vitovsky) after school from 3-6pm school days and hold a bible club for kids in a local apartment complex on Sunday afternoons. Contact Marilyn Stanbery at 972-723-7923.
Venus Prison – Several of our family members hold weekly discipleship ministries with inmates from the nearby Venus Prison. We also minister in the facility approximately four times a year with an outreach/praise night. Each November we share the gospel at this unit during the Bill Glass Prison ministry weekend.
